Banbury paddlers were tackling the long and short of it yesterday.

Congratulations to all our crews at Waterside B – 17.5 miles and 19 portages.  We had 4 K2s and 2 K1s out, and they all finished, despite the miserable weather and a strong headwind on the return leg, which made what is always a tough race an even greater slog.  In the K2 results, Alice and Matt were sixth in the Mixed, Irene and Kirsten 13th in the Ladies, Neil and Will 13th in Veteran Men with Gary and Chris 21st.  The two brave K1 paddlers were Mark – 20th in Senior Men and Tim 35th in veteran men.

At the other end of the spectrum, Max and Arthur were doing 1000m K4 training at Eton Dorney – the site of the London Olympics canoeing and rowing.  Not only did they get to train on the regatta lake, with the Olympic rings still on display, but Ed McKeever, London 200m Gold medallist popped in for a chat and to watch them for a while.
