Busy times, but lots of medals from the weekend:
At the Masters Championship Regatta, Robin won 3 gold and 3 bronze (with Jerry), and Helen and Siobhan also came back with 3 bronzes.
At the same time, Joe was racing on the GB Development Team at the German Marathon Nationals – and winning a K2 silver medal, as well as 6th in the K1.
It wasn’t just the old and bold up at the regatta though, there were plenty of other podium finishes there too. The “younger” seniors at the regatta were led by Alex who won his 200 and 500 C1 races by huge margins – definitely hoping for a promotion this time, whilst Robin and Shaun overcame their reluctance to sprint to take 3rd in the Mens C K2.
Esme won Girls B 500 K1 and was 2nd in the Girls A/B 200 with Molly from Norwich. Will won the B final of the Boys A/B 200, was 2nd in the Boys B 500, and had another 2nd and a 3rd in the K2 with different partners, while Jessie picked up a seat in a Norwich K4 for second in the Girls C/D race.
We’re looking forward to the Hasler races starting in region this weekend, with hopefully a big team off to Basingstoke on Sunday, and the same again to Reading the following weekend. Oh, and then there’s another regatta the weekend after!
