Following recent selection events, we’re very proud that four Banbury paddlers have been called up to race for GB.

Wildwater selections were announced after a weekend of racing over both the sprint and classic distances at Holme Pierrepont, Nottingham.   GB team regular Rob Jefferies will be racing at the Senior European Championships in Slovenia in early May; followed by World Cups 1 and 2 in France in June.  Under 23 paddler Jack Civico will be going all the way to China at the end of the year for World Cups 3 and 4, while George Urquhart will be competing at his first international event at the Junior World Championships in Bosnia in July.

A new format of assessment races for marathon took place at Reading Canoe Club, with a short-course race, a longer one and then a 5km time-trial.  After all that, former junior international Joe Petersen has got his first full senior selection to race at the Marathon World Cup in Norway at the end of May.
