Big Banbury celebration this weekend when our chairman, Graham had a significant birthday. In a failed attempt to keep it quiet, we organised his favourite session – mixed K2. Got to love a club who, despite a dozen or so being away at university, can still turn out 60 paddlers from Div 1 (this time courtesy of visitor GB/Solihull paddler Tom Lusty – we like to claim him as a Banbury adoptee) to Div 9, who are all prepared to get in boats with each other in the snow. There were even a few boats unused. According to those who swam (not naming names Tom Lusty), it was a little chilly in the canal, but luckily the other part of the celebration was a club full of food and cake on their return. Particular thanks to Colette who made the “big” cake.
