In a tight and exciting final, Angela Hannah and her partner, Hannah Brown (Wiltshire Youth Canoe Club) won a bronze medal at the ICF World Sprint Championships this weekend, going one better than their agonisingly close 4th at the Europeans.

The pair raced both 500 and 200m, making the semi-final in the 500, and taking the medal in the 200, having qualified direct from their heat.

For the first time ever, Banbury had 3 paddlers at the World Championships.  Amy Turner was in the K4 500 crew, which made the A final – a fantastic result for this young crew.

Iain Weir with Jonny Jones (Fladbury CC) made the semis in the the C2 1000, but just missed out on a place in the B Final.  Again, they are a young crew, so hopefully will be able to go even further next year.
