Although we are primarily race, sometimes we enjoy being on the water just for the sake of it.  Last weekend a group tried a new section of the Thames, launching from Lechlade.  There were options to do 10, 15 or 20 miles – with conveniently sited pubs along the route for refuelling (lunchtime chips were particularly welcome).  The good weather certainly helped, and it was an opportunity to see a very different bit of water and the occasional kingfisher.  A couple of people took on the Radcot Canoe Pass in a K2, although the rest opted to portage it.  With racing easing off for the winter months, the club has other trips planned – with the next one to Wales.
