Although not everyone was on holiday – the downside of being on the borders of three counties – there were 10 or more juniors each morning for the half-term training camp.  On Day 1, they were lucky enough to have top  British Canoeing coach, Andy Penhallurick, and Days 2 and 3 the Welsh Performance Manager (and ex-BDCC coach) Dan Golder.  Each day there was a paddle, a run and a strength and conditioning session, and a full cooked breakfast for lunch afterwards!

As well as those at the club camp, others were away at the Super Regional Sprint Squad kick-off camp, or doing a whitewater course, showing the variety of paddling and skills our club juniors are developing.

The hard work paid off, as many had their best race ever at the club’s Hasler race the following weekend, and promotions for 3 of them.
