About Banbury & District Canoe Club

Founded in 1977, Banbury & District Canoe Club (BDCC) is based on the Oxford Canal at Cropredy.

Whilst primarily a flatwater racing club, we also do some white water and descent racing, and hope to encourage as many people as possible to enjoy the pleasure of paddling, whatever their age or experience.  Through keeping our costs low and providing as much equipment as possible, we aim to make it an accessible sport for all.

The club has enjoyed great successes over the years, and is in the top five flatwater racing clubs in the country.  BDCC members have represented Great Britain from junior development teams to the London & Rio Olympics, and is the home to a number of National Champions of all ages in both sprint and marathon racing.

BDCC is run by the members as a Community Amateur Sports Club (CASC) and all our club coaches are British Canoeing qualified.

Alongside the competitive racing, the club is renowned for its warm and friendly atmosphere.  With over 150 active members, we try to ensure there is something for everyone – both on and off the water
